The Eye Examination
The routine eye examination is a valuable means
of ensuring that your vision is optimal, and best suited to your
lifestyle. But not only this, it provides an important check on
your general health
During the examination, we may: -
-
Check how well you can
see, using standardised charts
-
Measure your prescription
- or the strength and type of lenses that best improve your
sight, at both distance, near and middle distance.
-
Investigate how well
your eyes work as a team, using a number of tests of your binocular
vision. We may then recommend a range of exercises to optimise
your binocular vision.
-
Measure the fluid pressure
within your eye, using advanced electronic diagnostic machinery
that is non-invasive and completely painless. Raised pressure
is often linked to the blinding condition, Glaucoma. If caught
early however, treatment is easy.
-
Carefully examine the
health of your eyes, both externally and internally. The eye
is an important indicator of your general health, and we are
often able to spot the early signs of hypertension, blood disorders,
nerve disease, and many other health threatening conditions.
